Yama 1 Womens

I’m only three runs into them, but I like them. I’m coming from wearing the Inov-8 F-flys. I wanted a low drop but a thicker sole. These seem to be it. They felt a little off the first time I wore them. I re-laced them and they felt better the second time. Third time, they felt right. I prefer to have my shoes loose enough to slip on and off with untying them but tight enough to not slip while running. These are snug enough around the mid and heel where there is no slippage while running. I’ll know for sure after a few more runs if these are the ones or not. But so far so good.

Its been a struggle to find active footwear for wide feet +bunion. Ive spent 2 years trying different barefoot brands but never acclimated to their lack of cushion. Yamas took all the best principles of barefoot shoes (wide toe box and zero drop) and added back the cushion making them more suitable for modern life (running/walking on pavement) than barefoot shoes.

Because I am taking it slowly since I am new to barefoot shoes and I have foot issues I cannot say for certain these shoes are perfect but they definitely seem to be helping my feet feel more stable. I think the shoe is beautifully designed and very cool looking. I love the considerations - like the notch at the top of the tongue -a little stretch in the tie - the subtlety of color choice ( olive) - the texture of the inner sole. The ability to to spread your toes is amazing and the shoe does not want to rock my foot over. So far I am very impressed and I think the shoe is well priced. 👍
