Exit Chute for DF Series Grinders

Was the chute upgrade necessary?

After 2 years of flawless performance my DF 54 clogged. I thoroughly cleaned the grinder and 5 days later it clogged. I love this grinder. I did my YouTube research and learned about the steel upgrade for the chute entrance and the improved chute assembly. I bought the chute gate upgrade and the chute assembly upgrade. I changed the chute gate first and it solved the clogging problem. A week later I installed the upgraded chute assembly. I believe the new steel chute gate took care of the problem. The new chute is larger internally. YouTube fans of the DF 54 advise changing both so I took their advice.

A must

This is a must if you have the V1 grinder. However, the company should provide these components, shipped free of charge, to anyone who bought their grinder from them. We paid $100s for a grinder that had a poor design and then had to fork over more money to get new parts. The company argued with me about their warranty policy instead of graciously providing great service.

So far so good

I got the new chute (I already had the new metal declumper). Definitely less to zero static. The coffee seems to flow out well. I still pump the bellows out of habit. The new chute is wider for sure. I think we have a winner
