Rough night? Your brain might want creatine. 🧠

In a recent study, researchers gave 15 healthy adults a single dose of creatine or a placebo, then kept them awake for 21 hours. The creatine group processed information faster, had better short-term memory, and showed healthier brain energy markers on scans.

The surprising part: the effects showed up within hours, peaked around 4 hours, and lasted up to 9. Scientists used to think creatine took weeks to reach the brain, but when the brain is under stress, like after a sleepless night, it may take it up much faster.

Why? Your brain uses about 20% of your body’s energy at just 2% of your body weight. Creatine acts like a backup battery, helping recharge ATP when your energy reserves run low.

A quick note on dosage: this study used a large single dose (about 20–25 grams), and it’s a small study, so it’s not a replacement for sleep! Most research supports a consistent 3–5 grams a day to build your body’s and brain’s creatine stores over time. Always check with your healthcare provider before starting a new supplement.

Want to add creatine to your routine? Comment CREATINE below and I’ll send you the link to shop Be Well by Kelly Creatine, made with Creavitalis® for purity and quality you can trust. 🤍

These stats on kids’ health are eye-opening. 👀

Swipe through to see what Kelly McKenna, CEO of End Chronic Disease, shared on the Be Well podcast recently 👉

🥦 90% of kids don’t meet daily veggie recommendations
🍟 70% of their calories come from ultra-processed foods
🏃 80% don’t get enough movement
😴 50% aren’t getting adequate sleep

Together, these factors shape kids’ internal biology and raise their risk for chronic disease. But here’s the good news: so much of this is preventable with simple diet and lifestyle intervention ✨

That’s why Kelly sees schools as a laboratory for health and well-being. When we change the environment, we change what’s possible for our kids. 🤍

“What supplements do you take every day?” might be my most-asked question, so here it is! ✨

You might be surprised at how simple I keep it. That’s for a reason. The best supplement stack doesn’t do any good if it’s stressful to navigate or only happens on the two days a week that actually went as planned.

Give me a simple routine with only a few key supplements that actually move the needle instead. I’ll take consistency and quality over quantity any day. So here are my five non-negotiables, and why each one earned its spot in my routine 👇

1️⃣ Be Well Protein Powder: As a busy mom, it’s my shortcut to 30+ g of protein at breakfast. It keeps my blood sugar balanced and keeps me full until lunch without cravings, snacks, or food chatter. 🙌

2️⃣ Creavitalis Creatine: Not just for bodybuilders! Women have 70-80% lower creatine stores than men, and as estrogen drops in perimenopause and menopause, creatine + strength training helps us maintain lean muscle and strength, which is key for metabolic health. 💪

3️⃣ Essential Amino Acids: Leucine flips on mTOR, the switch for muscle protein synthesis. I sip mine around workouts for recovery. 🍋

4️⃣ Magnesium: Helps regulate GABA, the brain’s calming signal, so you can fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly. I never skip it. 😴

5️⃣ Brain Fuel Omega+: The science on this LPC form of omega-3 is new and exciting – I’m stoked to have created this supplement targeted at long term brain health. Full blog coming soon! 🧠

➕ Plus Methylated Multivitamin: My nutritional insurance policy for the days my plate isn’t perfect.

Small, simple habits that actually add up. Your supplement stack shouldn’t stress you out. 🤍

October 📸

We had mono and we had fires but looking back at these photos, all I feel is grateful.

These boys are my whole heart, and I’m so ready to trade some work hours for more time with them.

Here’s to slowing down and holding on to this season while it lasts. Happy day before Christmas decorations can go up!
