Bearberry, Cotoneaster dammeri 'Lowfast' is used most often as a ground cover or edging. Low rising and spreading it will don white flowers in spring followed by red berries. Dark green foliage is provided throughout the growing season and is highly attractive on its own. Hardy and fast developing with its ability to grow in full to part

So far so good.
I was dubious about planting these in the scorching sun in the Texas panhandle in early August. However, I created some little plant cages and put plastic grocery bags just across the top to provide some temporary shade until the weather cools and they get more established. They look fine and seem to be thriving.
