I've experienced nearly everything Lambertones has to offer across my various guitars and they are all truly some of the best out there. I was happy with the SE Silver Sky stock pickups (if they're good enough for Mayer that should be fine) but took the plunge with this one and Kurtis helped with recommending an aftermarket pickguard to help fit the pickups (Silver Sky is known for smaller pickups and the pickguard is fitted to the smaller casing). If you like Mayer and also like the Lambertones signature sound profile, this is perfect set to go with. Gives you a similar profile of that 63/64 Vintage strat sound that's not harsh and brittle and with better low end response but adds the the Lambertones touch of increased dynamics and clarity. The description of "springy low end", "crisp clear high end", and just "smooth" is really on point here. The Silver Sky SE pickups were already much better than most stock strat pickups out there but these really take it one step further. If you're replacing standard strat pickups and looking for that vintage 63/64 tone that Mayer likes but also just a bit more of everything that makes it good then just order a set. Even replacing Silver Sky pickups, these give me less ear fatigue over a longer period of time through my rig and the fact that they sound so good keeps me wanting to play longer.

The Stratocaster I used for the triple shot pickups was a relic guitar project. It came out really nice. I had a professional jazz player try it out and he was very impressed with the sound. Great addition to my guitar collection, although my son borrowed it to play in a worship band at his church and I haven’t seen it in a few months. He really likes it, so I may not get it back! Awesome pickups!
