I buy a big tin each year to have on hand once the cooler weather hits. Occasionally I'll brew chai with proper technique, and of course that's amazing, but I typically do something much simpler. Every morning I brew a pot of robust loose leaf black tea, and in the colder times of the year, I love to have this blend on hand to add a a half teaspoon or so to each pot. Warming spices, feels really good for the bod. Diaspora's really is the best, enormously flavorful, and incredibly fresh. (I had a touch of last year's on hand and though it was still really good, the fresh really pops and is in a different league -- I recommend using up your tin within 6 months or so if you can. Those are the breaks with ground spices!) By far the best chai spice blend I've ever tried (including from other very good direct equitable trade companies). A splurge for me, but absolutely worth it.

I love the pre-mixed chai spice and I also love following Sana's recipe for a homemade spice blend when I have more time. As with all Diaspora products, it's perfect.

Chai spice is delicious
Chai spice is super delicious and amazing, but I gotta knock a star off for the 45g packaging. It’s SO CUTE, but inaccessible. It’s hard to open and I spilled a good portion on the floor when I finally pried it open :( I find the black tea packaging easier to open, I wish it was more like that.
