Good pants. My personal preference is hip vents without mesh like SG pants. The little bit of debris that might come in through open vents is a small price to pay for the huge improvement in venting heat because even mesh vents hold too much heat for me. I'd also prefer flaps over my thigh pockets rather than zippers because I've never lost anything from a thigh pocket that just had flaps and there is less noise and quicker access. With all that being said, these are still great pants. I'd put these right up there with the De Havilland Lite from SG with mesh vs no mesh being the deciding factor for me. The Vesper is quieter and the fabric lighter. It has a great fit and I didn't feel like it stretched in anyway after multiple days afield. I like the fit at the boots as well as there isn't excess fabric to rub when you're walking. These pants look just as good on the street as they do out in the mountains. Money well spent; you can't go wrong with purchasing a pair of these pants.

Solid Pants

I tried a pair of these pants this year on a recent 7 day backpack hunt in Colorado. I really liked the pants, the fit was great, the big hip vents worked well, they proved to be very durable, pockets and zippers worked great. I didn't notice any part of the pant stretching out throughout the hunt, the fit stayed pretty similar the entire time. The material is a little thicker than my sitka ascents or my outdoor vitals pants, but I wouldn't consider these pants super hot. When temps got down to high 30s and low 40s it was definitely to have a little extra material there. Not sure if I will wear them for my warm Arizona desert hunts but they will be my go to pant for fall mountain hunts into the winter stuff. Im personally a big fan of integrated belts which is why I gave the 4 stars but other than that I thought these pants were great!

Picked up a pair on way through Boise to Nevada elk hunt

Will have to say great pair of pants!! The material is very quiet which is a big plus in my book. The thigh zippers are longer than on some pants I have which I did like. Fit was good and very comfortable. Zippered fly pulls up higher and doesn'tcreep down. Only used them 5 days on elk hunt so far but so far I am very pleased with the and they are a great pant!! A+
