Featherstone Granite 2P Backpacking Tent

I want to share how tickled I am with the Featherstone Granite 2p. After spending an extraordinary amount of time researching tents (as I can be a bit frugal), this tent kept making it to the top of my comparison list. I started searching for the latest and greatest tech updates and must-haves, all the while considering ‘budget-friendly’ options. The Granite checked ALL the boxes: aluminum poles (7001 series), 20 D sil-nylon base and fly, waterproof (2000mm) with fully taped seams, freestanding, and lightweight yet spacious. The specs are comparable to the ‘big name’ brands (N**o, Durs..n, BA, M*S, SMD, R*I, etc.) yet sold at a fraction of the cost. Although it is not what some may consider truly UL, I got the trail weight to about 3.5 lbs.! I double checked against the competitors and found that most listed their weight without a footprint. This has the footprint included so no need make an additional purchase or diy a Tyvek tarp. Setup was fast and intuitive, especially due to the single-hub pole system. It was roomy enough for two people - perfect for one and my gear. The walls stand almost upright, and there is plenty of headroom. The dual doors and vestibules offer convenient access and additional gear storage, and the zippers operate smoothly with no snags. There are even extras such as overhead and corner cargo nets, twelve aluminum stakes, pole repair/patch kit, as well as reflective seams and guylines that enhance the value even more. I must say I was truly pleased when I woke up in the morning, climbed out, and admired my newest and will be my go-to tent. I also want to give a shout out to John who provided exceptionally prompt and helpful customer service in answering my questions and requests. My partner and I love this tent! We are just getting into backpacking and were looking for a lightweight, easy to set up, stand alone tent that wouldn’t be too expensive, and this is exactly that. I especially love all the mesh—it makes the tent feel airy. I also love that it’s orange colored!

I picked this tent up after watching a Youtube influencer. I've used it for over a year and I love it so much that we bought another for my son. The quality is top notch. I don't have any issues with the one I've been using and I anticipate using it for a long time.
